Carol Ann's Story

Started my first job as Asst Bookkeeper at Griffith Motors on Broadway the day after graduation. Met and married Barbara Mappus’’s cousin in a whirlwind romance. Married in 65, after only 4 months of dating, I looked at him and knew he was the one! He was in the Navy so I stayed in my Mom’s home until his discharge in 1967, we moved to Islip and then bough...Expand for more
t our current house in Islip Terrace. Have lived here since 1968. Had 4 children but sadly lost our first born at age 10. Went on to have 9 grandchildren and a new great grandson now. Sadly Cliff passed away from lung cancer in 2013 after almost 48 years of marriage, I feel like half of me is gone and hope to be reunited when it’s my turn to be called home!
